Solid Start to the Season

The game kicked off at 3pm on very hot Saturday afternoon. The Brewerkz looked tired and lacked shape for the first 15 minutes against a lively Dutch side. We had started the game with a 3-4-1-2 formation, but quickly reverted to 4-4-2 after a quick management meeting , on the field, between Fulvio and Chris.

With improved movement and width, the Brewerkz started to create some decent chances. 2-0 up at half time after young Stuart Aiken delivered two quality crosses for Yazid to finish with style as always.

The Brewerkz dominated the game, without ever really playing that well. The third goal was a cracker from Kelly - 25 yards out.

The Brewerkz had to play the last 20 minutes with 10-men as Tomas was sent off for a minor incident, which to be fair, a yellow-card would have have been a more appropriate course of action.

Despite been down to 10-men, the Brewerkz added one more goal, after a solid team move led to an own goal from the Dutch.

It could have been 5-0, however, Thomas back in the side managed to miss an open goal (at least I was in the 6 yard box with 5 minutes to go!)

Well played to the Dutch, who at times caused us plenty of problems. Nice to see the young Dutch striker and winger running at the Brewerkz defenders.....
