An Ugly Win
With both teams short of a bit of confidence it was always going to be a scrappy affair, in fairness both teams looked to keep the ball on the deck and build possession.
Rangers opened the scoring after Ubin gifted their quick striker with a one on one chance; which was very well taken. Slightly against the run of play it took the wind out of Ubin for a while.
Perserverance was going to be the key for both sides and not long before half time Mike B finished superbly after another scrappy penalty box encounter.
At half time we knew that we had the skill and fitness to win the game - we just needed to believe it.
There were a few chances for both sides, but as the game went on, Ubin were stronger and had the clearer chances.
Time was running out, when Ubin built a nice attacking move. With players pouring forward Danny found Simon in space out wide to cross low into the crowded penalty area - Robin finished well to give Ubin the points with the last kick of the game.
Thanks to Rangers for a fair and competitive match. Both teams will be looking to improve their performances though.
