A classic game of two halves as the Brewerkz yet again [copy and paste] gave away an early goal, in this case two, which against a team of the Casuals quality is a recipe for zero points. The fist goal conceded was a gem of a strike, after which the Brewerkz seem shell shocked and gave away a poor goal.
nThe Brewerkz settled down and tried to get back into the match. After 25 minutes, it was 2-1. Hope restored. Towards the end of the first half, the casuals scored a super team goal, 4 or 5 intricate passes and then a crisp strike. Football made to look easy.
nFrom the sidelines, it looked clear the attacking players were on top of both defenses, the Brewerkz were confident if they could defend better, there were goals for the taking. The lads started the second half well and had a few good chances, not taken. It was soon game over as the Casuals scored a 4th, a poor goal to conceded, a mis-kick from the Casuals strikers through our keepers legs.
nTo the credit of Brewerkz, we battled on as chances were aplenty. We clawed 2 goals back to make it 4-3, one each for Kelly and Ganesh. With 10 minutes to go, it could easily have ended up 5-4 to Brewerkz after we hit the post, had a free kick saved and one cleared off the line. Frustration for Brewerkz, visible relief for the Casuals.
nAll in all, an excellent game of football. Exactly what the Cosmoleague is all about. The game was played in good spirit and well refereed.
