After the game it felt like it was 2 points lost, however it could also be considered as one point won. As usual, our games against Lions would be of the interesting nature where you would never know the result before the final whistle.
It was a game of 2 halves. Lions was dominating first half, with their strikers causing trouble for Ubin defence. First goal game after about 15 minutes (don't know what happened as I went to the loo), and second coming shortly after which was a true gift from an Ubin defender (due to the poor pitch quality). Ubin gaining some more posession and moving upwards on the pitch in the last 15 minutes.
Second half was to a large extent one way traffic. Ubin put more pressure on Lions, and with Danny and Ben winning everything in central midfield, we managed to stop the support that the Lions' strikers had in 1st half. Our first goal could though be considered lucky, as the penalty given could be considered soft. However, the referee was consistent, as most other decissions were wrong as well....
Jamie converted the penalty kick and Ubin continued to press on. More chances followed, with good opportunities for Mike B and Tony (both coming on as subs) before Dave B got the second goal. Ubin also had shouts for a penalty turned down, when Mike C was tackled by the Lions' goalkeeper just before the final whistle. Some unecessary exciting moments in injury time, when Amin was out of his area, but the Lions' shot never reached the goal line.
All in all, we should be fairly satisfied by getting a point, when being 2-0 down at half time. However, we have done it many times before and know we can turn games around.
