ogs swiss
Despite a pitch in poor conditions, both Swiss and OG have tried to display beautiful football with numerous passes. OG was well in position from the start and would show commitment from start to finish. Both teams got clear opportunities to get the opener but both keepers were alert today preventing easy scoring. However our goalkeeper David would be logically sanctioned by a yellow and
penalty kick after misjudging a long ball from Swiss defence and
knocking Swiss forward.
The Swiss captain would score. 1-0.
However OG kept fighting and managed to get even 1 minute before half time, thanks to Julien that would volley home a header from Tamby. A beautiful and well deserved goal
1-1 and halftime
Second half would start on the same pace with both teams getting a few opportunities to score.
Once again, Swiss would convert theirs first after a slow reaction from OG defense that left an Swiss striker unmarked at the entrance of the D-box. 1-2
OG would then get more possession and swiss defence seemed to suffer more and more. Ths would lead OG to get a penalty kick, scored by Tamby. With 10 minutes to go both teams were tired but decided to win the game. Fred would get a beaufiful ball fom Tamby and arrived alone in front of the GK, however due to the poor condition of the pitch he lost control of the ball. On the last cornerkick of the game, Swiss would get the winner, with a close range header.
Another tough ending for OG, given all efforts put into that game. We would have deserved at least a draw.
Congrats to the Swiss for an overall fair game..
This was the last game of Julien, whose stamina and fighting spirit will be sorely missed.
