Almost again...
After the disappointment of getting knocked out of the cup in the last minute of the cup two weeks ago, Ubin again lined up against SCC at Dempsey Rd, determined to build on that strong performance.

Ubin started quietly - with only a few words spoken between team mates. SCC on the other hand started strongly and used the ball well in an opening 15 minutes where Ubin had to defend well with a number of last ditch clearances and tackles to keep the active SCC forwards at bay. Ubin began to find their feet as the half wore on and some good work in midfield and a great run and cross from Rob found Annuar who slotted calmly to give Ubin the lead. As someone helpfully pointed out after the game - the first few minutes after you score you don't want to concede! This useful piece of knowledge seemed to escape Ubin, and SCC quickly levelled things and then took the lead after getting the ball wide on a number of occasions into the Ubin's box.

Half time, 1-2 down, but still in it, and the talk was...this isn't over but Ubin needed more belief and must work harder together, oh and talk!

Second half began where the first left off, SCC enjoying a lot of possession and Ubin defending strongly and looking to hurt SCC on the counter. As a tough half wore on Pete and Jayme began to see more and more of the ball, and Ubin seemed to be growing in confidence. Ubin eventually got their reward when a cracking freekick from Gregg picked out Joel at the back post, who's header was tipped away from the keeper to Annuar to bag his second. 2-2 with a few minutes left.

Again, worth remembering that the first few minutes after you score are the most dangerous, as Ubin allowed a SCC midfielder to bring the ball to the edge of the box and hit a shot that Amin did well to keep out, but fell straight to a grateful forward to slot home. 3-2 and not much else of note.

All in all a decent hardworking performance from Ubin, who must now build on this performance. Credit to SCC who showed a lot of determination to win - a tough enjoyable game once again.
