Deserved Ubin Victory
It didn't look good for Rangers as a team that was tired from the plate final, hung over from the resulting night out and depleted most likely from a combination of the first two points turned up at a hot Tanglin Sports complex pitch to face Ubin who to be fair had also had a tough game the day before.

Not surprisingly Ubin got into the game much quicker than Rangers and were on the attack for the start. After about 10mins a great strike hit the cross bar and bounced back out, with Ubin strikers following up the ball was scrambled to safety, well that what everyone thought until the ref noticed the linesman waving that the ball had crossed the line. Possibly the worst call we have seen all year and Rangers will be calling for goal line technology to be introduced for next season (A pair of new spectacles).

A couple of casualties forced some early substitutions but Rangers managed to keep it together for the remainder of the half to keep it 1-0 at the break.

The second half Ubin continued to pressure and were soon 2-0 up.

The a chance for Rangers to get back into the game as a penalty was awarded for handball, After a quick discussion between the two joint to goal scorers as to who should take the kick it fell to Blacky, who’s well taken penalty managed to hit the upright. Shortly after Ubin broke and scored a third goal which is how the game ended.

Thanks to Ubin for a good game and all the best for next season.

Despite the tough game the previous day and the over exuberant celebrations the team put in a gritty if not particularly good performance, Naughty had a good game and thanks to Rubin for putting it in for the full 90.

MOM goes to Ken for a great game today and cutting out many of the runs from the pacey Ubin striker. Fitting really this was Ken’s last game as he recently announced he is to retire from his Rangers playing career.  On Behalf of the team and I expect many of the opposing players I want to thank you for your valued contribution to Rangers football over the years.
