Starting the game with only one official Brewerkz were clearly the more lively team in the opening exchanges. Two good goals from Kelly, one a header and one a well taken strike meant that Brewerkz were 2-0 up after 30 minutes.
nnnBut Hibs were always battling and chasing down the opposition defenders and midfield players. On a strange afternoon from the officials, the Hibs had to wait 40 minutes for the first decision in their favour. Amazingly not a single decision being awarded to Hibs for anything (fouls, throw-ins, etc.) So on 40 minutes from our first free kick of the day, Ben Arnott got to the far post and nodded across the goal mouth to that cart-horse Tunners who although he’s slower in the legs these days, managed to be faster in thought that the rest of the Brewerkz defenders and pounced on the loose ball before the defenders could react. Oh dear, fancy conceding a goal to such a slow player!! But as the late Bobby Moore once said "the first two yeards are in your head".
nnnHibs went into the half-time break 2-1 down but with their heads up and feeling in confident mood for the second half. Indeed Hibs had a great 30 mins and dominated the tiring Brewerkz players. A sharply taken goal from a corner meant it was 3-2 and it s
It was a day to forget for the officials; turning up late, giving a long series of curious decisions (big and small) all against Hibs for the 40 minutes of the game, not spotting even one of Kelly’s many shirt pulls that if there were 27 thousand people in the stands I am sure everyone would have seen (touche), getting decisions wrong for both sides and turning down one very good shout for a hand-ball against Hibs in the 2nd half.

Spackers was excellent in the back-line, Ben and Guy worked hard on the right hand side. Bastian was his ever industrious self. Glenda worked hard on the left and although his forays forward were restricted he tackled hard and restricted play on the left, did Gary and Ross. But MOM for the day goes to Ryan Geong for his hard work, continuous closing down and tidy distribution. Good work fella.
The game was played in a good competitive spirit and with the banter between the players also being good we wish Brewerkz the very best of luck in the semis.
