Rampant SCC Trounce Dutch 11-0

Hat-tricks from both Scotty Anderson and JD helped SCC blast 11 past the bottom of the league Dutch on Saturday without reply.

The Dutch captain Arjen must have felt a little unfortunate on Saturday morning knowing that his goalkeeper was missing and his side was traveling away from home to play a free scoring SCC side.  SCC had comprehensively beaten SCC at the Padang in February and they were in the mood to take full advantage of the chance to near the 100 goal mark for the season against the men from The Netherlands.

With Monaghan away, some bloke that no-one has ever seen before took over as coach.  His chat was very much scripted and few of the players would expect to see him at an SCC match again; think of Avram Grant in his first few weeks at the Chelsea helm.  With the new coach's words of wisdom ringing in their ears SCC took to the field and started brightly enough but without really penetrating the Dutch defence.  The breakthrough came after 15 minutes with JD scoring another goal he didn't know too much about.  He did well to meet a Daviiid cross but the ball was saved by the unlucky Arjen in goals only to reboud, hit JD in the back and drop into the bottom left hand corner.  The highlight of a quality first half from SCC was Scott Anderson's goal which followed a good win from the SCC centre-backs and then some swift two touch football all the way up the field.  Scott's dynamic run from midfield was picked out and he made no mistake in finishing off his one on one with the Dutch stand in keeer.

Half time 6-0.

The second half saw JD slot home his third goal following a half-saved free-kick before all the SCC substitutes were given an opportunity to show what they could do.  Hutch scored quickly after coming on and JP, who continues to look a good player, also found the net.  The goals came thick and fast all through the game.  To make sure the sorers all get their proper mention... Scotty Anderson and JD both scored hat-tricks, JP smashed home midway through the second half for his first league goal for SCC,  Hutch bagged one shortly after coming onto the pitch and goals from Rogers and Daviiiid rounded off the big scoreline.

So a good all round team performance from SCC, who were professional in disposing of their bottom of the league opposition.  Man of the match goes to the tireless Anderson whose driving runs and strength in midfield were rewarded with 3 goals on the day.  Many thanks to the Dutch who maintained their discipline throughout the game.  For the stattos out there, the SCC have now scored 95 goals in the season - 3 figures would be some achievement!
