Vikings Eliminated
Rangers effectively eliminated Vikings in the Plate Cup competition.
Rangers took the lead early on, when they outnumbered our defense in a counter-attack. We pushed on for the equalizer and Fallesen did well from the edge of the area to convert a cut-back pass by Kenni. Major Chances to Elbo & Kenni should have given us the lead, but Rangers also had their fair share of chances. 1-1 at half-time
Second half started with everyone in the Vikings team just waiting for us to take the lead. Tommie had a shot on the inside of the post, but besides that we failed to create any open scoring chances. Instead we lost our focus and Rangers caught Vikings custodian Eu Jin off his line with a nice long range chip-shot. This should have inspired us to get another equalizer, but instead Rangers bagged their third with a low powerful shot.
Charni almost scored in the dying minutes, but it ended 1-3 Rangers in what was a disappointing affair. Well deserved win for Rangers and good luck in the remainder of the competition.
A Vikings team, who failed to show the necessary passion & desire to win games, need to get back to basics and improve their work rate. Certain key players (incl. myself) need to work harder to ensure we return to the impressive form shown earlier this season. We can do that, so lets prove it by beating Casuals in two weeks time.
